The Hound, Our Shield
When darkness fell and firelight waned,
Came forth the Hound, Sandor Clegane.
With sword in hand and scowl so grim,
No foe would dare stand up to him.
Our village small, so weak, so bare,
Doomed to fall to bandits’ snare.
Yet through the mist, like ghost or fate,
He rode alone—both fierce and great.
"Step forth," he growled, "or turn and run,
Your thieving days are damn near done."
His blade, it sang, through air so keen,
A silver flash, a crimson sheen.
The outlaws fled, their courage drowned,
Before the wrath of Clegane the Hound.
And though he spoke no word of grace,
A hero stood in that lone place.
With dawn anew, he turned away,
No gold to take, no thanks to stay.
Yet still we pray, when nights grow dire,
The Hound returns through smoke and fire. |
